| In March of 2000... Shooting Stars started as a small neighborhood one-room dance studio. Today, it has expanded into 2 dynamic facilities that encompass 8500 sq. ft and feature many diverse programs for the entire family. Katie Freeman, a professional dancer and instructor, wanted to create a place where children could learn to dance in a friendly, non-competitive atmosphere. She wanted to share her knowledge and love of dance and to teach children to love it too! She continues to grow the Dance Program to include all genres of dance and to provide learning & performing opportunities fo all of our students. Katie’s sister, Christie Copley, joined the staff in January of 2001. She has an amazing ability to relate to children, and used her background in early childhood education and her teaching talents to create our popular Preschool and Camp Programs. She believes whole-heartedly in our school's "Learning Through Play" philosophy and is always enthusiastic about educating families in the numerous benefits of this style of learning. In January 2002, the addition of their mom Jeanie Kalencki made the “family owned and operated” team complete. Her love of the children and the families that attend Shooting Stars is so genuine, it is certainly felt by everyone that sees her smiling face as she greets them at the front desk. Through the years, we have continued to expand our ”family” by hiring a stellar staff of dedicated, talented, and enthusiastic individuals who share our philosophy and our love of children. We’re confident you will agree and feel right at home here. We are constantly rewarded by the many success stories of our Shooting Stars students and are touched by the communities support over the years. We hope to continue along this path and discover together that "The Sky's the Limit" at Shooting Stars. |
