| Dance Company... Join our group of dedicated dancers and see what sets us apart! Exciting Choreography Great Friends Performances & Competitions The Shooting Stars Dance Company was formed in 2007 under the direction of Katie Freeman, Shooting Stars owner & professional dancer and instructor, after she recognized a need within Santa Clarita and our Shooting Stars community for this unique “team”. With the help of Assistant Dance Director, Nicole Sanchez, an amazing support staff and creative teachers and choreographers, we have grown our Company to include 61 members, ages 5 to 14, for the 2011-2012 season. We are so proud of the many accomplishments of our spirited young dancers and our program in this short span of time! The Dance Company has open enrollment in July for all of our dedicated dance students (1st grade and up) that are ready to take their dancing and performing to an elevated level! In January, we invite our younger students (Kinder. – 2nd) to enroll as our “Junior Team”. We believe that all of our students should have the same opportunity to experience being part of our Team and will continue to offer them a place as long as they are willing and able to meet the additional financial and time commitments above recreational classes. Our most advanced students may also be invited to enroll in our “Jazz Team” and/or “Hip Hop Crew”. The dancers on these teams have a multitude of training commitments and also additional opportunities such as traveling to attend competitions. During the season, our dancers enjoy spending social time together and participating in charity fundraising, such as our annual Dance-A-Thon that benefits the American Heart Association. In addition to being featured performers at the Shooting Stars Annual Winter Festival and June Dance Recital, our Teams will have the opportunity to grace stages both big and small, both near and far. Some of our venues include, Disneyland, Magic Mountain, and the Staples Center as well as performing within the community at city-sponsored events and various Holiday Festivities. We also have the opportunity to participate in master classes and attend workshops & conventions. As we begin our 5th year, we are excited to build upon all the wonderful experiences we’ve had! To continue our growth and reach our goals for the Company and for our individual members, we expect all of our dancers and their families to be dedicated to our program and their training, to try their best, share our philosophy and believe in our mission.
