The Dance Program...Our dance program encompasses all genres of dance with a variety of classes for students 18 months through 18 years. From our tiniest tots in tutus to our more experienced dancers, we strive to support each individual on their own journey. Our teachers are dedicated to creating a positive learning experience and to providing classes that educate and inspire. All students are invited to participate in a minimum of (2) Annual Shooting Stars Productions - our Winter Festival is held in December and an Annual Dance Recital in June.
Shooting Stars Dance Company...The Shooting Stars Dance Company was formed in 2007 to provide our dedicated dancers additional opportunities to train and perform! Under the direction of Katie Freeman, and our talented dance faculty, we are thrilled to watch our Company members continue to blossom into skilled dancers and fantastic performers that can light up a stage!
Our Company consists of dancers 5 – 18 years of age, and encompasses Performance Teams and Competition Teams. Our “dance season” runs from August – July, and some of our annual highlights include performances at Day for Kids, Magic Mountain, Kids Expo, Heartwalk LA, multiple Holiday Community Events, Disneyland, Relay for Life and the Staples Center, in addition to our own Shooting Stars Winter Festival and June Recitals.
Our Competition Team takes their commitment to another level by participating in these performance opportunities, and also (3) regional and (1) national level competition during the dance season.
In addition to fulfilling their commitments here at Shooting Stars, all of our dancers have the opportunity to take classes from visiting master teachers, to enrich their training with additional opportunities, and to participate in philanthropy projects, such as the Shooting Stars Annual “Dance-a-thon” Event that benefits the American Heart Association. We fully support our students in their growth as dancers and young ladies and gentlemen and hope to instill a genuine love and appreciation for the arts. We strive to inspire, educate and unite through our common experiences and hope that the lessons learned and memories made will last a lifetime!
